The event in our Attenborough event space last Tuesday kicked off with James from B Corp UK presenting the B Corp's global mission to inspire and enable people to use business as a force for good. Through their certification process in B Labs in 77 countries, businesses are assessed against 5 pillars: workers, customers, environment, community and company's governance. Following the assessment, businesses are legally committed to meeting the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance.

B Corp UK were joined by two certified businesses at the event: Doisy & Dam and Y.O.U Underwear.
Doisy & Dam are on a mission to make the world a better place through better chocolate. Their chocolate is made from ethically sourced cocoa, no palm oil and no dairy. They are dedicated to doing right by their suppliers and customers which is why they decided to become a B Corp. Their approach to chocolate and B Corp journey to becoming certified in April 2017 were presented to us by their marketing manager Liv.

Event visitors got to taste the chocolate and it's safe to say they were impressed! As Doisy & Dam say: "It's Dam good!". You can shop for chocolate on their website https://doisyanddam.com/ (Tip: get 20% Off with code TREATYOURSELF20) or in supermarkets (Sainsbury's, Asda, Holland and Barret, Amazon, Ocado).
The event moved from chocolate to pants with Y.O.U Underwear' s founder Sarah stepping on the stage saying "We are trying to change the world one pair of pants at a time!". Inspired by her experience volunteering in Uganda in 2016 during the Uganda Marathon, and seeing the number of women and children without access to underwear, Sarah decided to create a business that sells sustainable, organic cotton underwear. For each pair sold, two pairs are given to people in need.

Y.O.U Underwear received their B Corp accreditation in November 2021 and received the highest score in the UK and highest score in fashion globally.

The evening ended with Q&A's, chats, and zero miles pizza delivered on foot by our Fabrica X hero Gabriele.
